All Natural, Locally Grown Farm Raised Beef

HarvestHome Farms’ “Natural Beef” comes from cows raised primarily on pasture, producing a meat that is high in healthy Omega-3 fatty acids and low in cholesterol. They receive no antibiotics, hormones, medicated feed or growth implants.  Having around the clock access to high quality hay, fresh water, natural minerals and a small amount of grain, they are happy, healthy bovines. They are treated as pets, in a low stress, natural environment. In contrast, almost all beef available in grocery stores comes from confined feedlots/industrial systems where the feed is "medicated" with antibiotics and the animals receive estrogen growth implants.

We primarily raise Angus, a Black English breed, renowned for its beef quality (flavorful meat and naturally superior marbling) and Piedmontese recognized for its leanness and unsurpassed tenderness. Crossing the two breeds produces a lean, tender, tasty and, low cholesterol meat.

Dry Aged for Taste

And Tenderness

QUALITY PROCESSING: HarvestHome Farms’ Beef is dry aged for a minimum of 14 days in temperature controlled refrigeration units. This process enables natural enzymes to break down and tenderize the meat producing a unique texture and superb flavor.

Although commonly practiced 20 years ago, dry ageing is now requested only from high quality restaurants and upscale grocery stores because of cost. Mass- produced grocery store meat is wet aged to prevent shrinkage and maximize profits, but the end result is compromised taste and tenderness.

How much will my meat cost?   The great advantage of purchasing meat on the hoof is the ability to obtain high quality meat at bulk price. This results in increased savings for your family. All you need is freezer space. We sell our cows whole, halves or in quarters. The most requested is a quarter, which, on average, feeds a family of four for approximately 6 months to a year.

A Quarter typically yields 90-100 pounds of beef depending on size of the animal.

All Natural Beef found in Kroger ranges from just under $5/lb for ground beef up to $16/lb for steaks. I recently visited a local natural food market, which offered non- Angus steaks in the neighborhood of $5.99 -$20/lb. All your meat (ground – filet mignon) averages around $5.50 -$6.00/lb…

A $50 deposit reserves your quarter. At that time you will be able to pick how you want your meat cut and packaged.

Note to our Nutrition Friends:

Because fuel, processing and feed prices have increased so much in the last 2 years we have been forced to raise our price of beef. We held out as long as we could and regret having to do so. In the event costs go down again, we will definitely pass that savings on to you.

Those of you who know us personally know that our main desire is to provide our Nutriiton customers with the ability to obtain good quality, clean meat because of the wonderful health benefits... not to make a living on the farm. We just need to charge enough to keep it going.
